Arlington Ridge Marketplace

This project involved the redevelopment of a 22 acre commercial site with a 230,000-square-foot commercial center, anchored by a Target retail store. The Arlington Ridge Marketplace is located just off of Interstate 77 along the Arlington Road corridor in Green, Ohio.
Green is just south of Akron and Arlington Road is a major north-south connector between the two communities.

As the civil engineer, ms consultants provided site-civil, structural, and permitting services. The project deliverable involved a complete development plan, including Target site improvement plans and retaining wall design documents.

The site itself has quite a few changes in topography, with a relatively severe drop in elevation from the southeast corner to the northwest. Retaining walls were necessary on all sides of the parking lot, especially in the southeast where Arlington Road runs along the front of the site. Immediately to the north of the parking lot the site slopes downward into a wooded ravine.

For the jurisdictional submittals, coordination was required between several entities - including the City of Green, Summit County, and Target corporate staff.
