This year marked a huge milestone—our 60th year in business. As we reflect on our history and look towards the future, it was important that our corporate mission, vision, and values aligned with who we are and where we are headed.
All ms employees were able to take part in developing the new ms mission, vision, and values. Through surveys, workshops, focus groups, and more, everyone played a part in developing these statements that are true to who we are.
Mission: Why We Exist
A mission statement describes an organization’s purpose and overall intention. At ms, we offer a range of solutions to diverse clients and communities through a variety of ways. But there’s another element—our people.
When we were founded in 1963, family values were a foundation for our existence. Today, 60 years later, those family values continue to be a pillar of ms. It became clear during surveys, focus groups, and conversations that our family values are something that differentiates us. We hold these values true for our employees, clients, and communities.
Our new mission statement captures the importance of our people and our commitment to our communities and clients.

Vision: Looking to The Future
A vision sets the direction, guiding our steps and defining the destination we strive to reach. Our new vision statement reflects our aspirations and the path we aim to tread upon in the years to come.
Today, we make up a variety of specialties, including architects, engineers, planners, designers, surveyors, funding experts, technicians…the list goes on and on. Not to mention the support groups who also make up our business. We may not know what the future may bring and how we will expand, but we can all agree that our vision is to improve our communities, our spaces, our infrastructure, and more to lead to a better future for all.

Core Values: Guiding Principles We Stand By
Our values are the foundation upon which we build our company culture and make decisions. These values are the essence of who we are and serve as the compass directing our actions.
Previously, our core values were not formalized. While we had informal values, they weren’t on the office walls or in marketing materials. Given that, one may think this would be a difficult task to agree on a set of values that aligned with the entire company.
However, the opposite was true.
Our core values became clear almost immediately. These values were already engrained in us all, from the top down of the organization. These core values are true to ms and who we are and want to be.
