2023 officially marks ms’ 60^th year in business! To celebrate this incredible milestone, ms held a companywide party, and the ms Employee Resource Groups (ERG), including the Young Professionals Group and the Women’s Group, held their own social events.

Employees from across ms’ seven offices, including those who work fully remote, were invited to join in on the various celebrations taking place, giving coworkers who may have only met each other through a screen the chance to connect in person and celebrate ms together!

The 60-year anniversary party was held in the Ohio Stadium, home to the renowned college football team, The Ohio State Buckeyes. Employees from all office locations joined in celebration, games, music, dancing, and more.

The evening kicked off with a scavenger hunt and cocktail hour, followed by recognizing the past 60 years, acknowledging major employee milestones, and a nod to our upcoming retirees. It was a great time for everyone to get together, mingle, and celebrate our collective success.

We were able to get personal stadium tours of the historic Ohio Stadium led by on-site tour guides, including a visit to the field. While it was quite the task, we were able to squeeze in to get into a huge group photo!

The ms Success Meeting is an annual gathering where ms leaders and managers from all offices and business units are brought together to connect and collaborate. With everyone in town for the celebration, this was also a great time to hold an ms Success Meeting. This year, topics included unveiling the company’s new mission, vision, and values, a panel on moderating a hybrid workforce, a business planning presentation, an innovation brainstorming session, and more.

“The Success Meeting is a great way to get leadership in one location at the same time so they can connect on a personal level, share ideas and solutions to issues they are experiencing, and meet those that are new to the company. We use the time to share success stories that we’ve recently experienced and discuss areas of improvement for our continued success.” – Mike Kratofil

The Young Professionals Group (YPG) is a component of ms’ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. The Young Professionals Group is a group of young professionals who are getting started with their professional development through education programs, career development workshops, and social events.

This year, ahead of the 60-Year Celebration, the YPG held a social event for YPG members at Scene 75, one of the largest indoor entertainment centers in the country. The YPG outing featured games, food, and opportunities to network with fellow young professionals.

The YPG hosted this social outing to provide members a chance to not only celebrate their successes throughout the year but to also give young professionals an environment to connect with other young professionals.

“The YPG is an important facet of ms consultants and has been since its creation. It connects the aspiring professionals across all offices of the company. The Scene 75 outing specifically provided us an opportunity to get to know each other outside of a work setting, while having an enjoyable time playing arcade games, racing cars and/or riding the drop tower together. I even got a jigsaw Leaning Tower of Pisa that adorns my workspace!” – Jeff Jilek

The ms Women’s Group (WG) is also a component of ms’ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. The msWG is a group dedicated to supporting and engaging the women of ms that provides supportive relationships in an open and honest environment. The group’s purpose is to equip women with the skills for success within ms and the AEC industry, promoting equity in business and empowering women to reach their potential.

The msWG Brunch was held at Grandview Café, the day following the 60-Year Celebration. The brunch provided a casual environment for the women of ms to connect and celebrate 60-years of business.

The event provided an opportunity for members to get to know women from all ms offices and locations. The brunch also gave members a chance to discuss the msWG successes and goals for the future.

The anniversary celebrations offered ms employees a chance to take a well-deserved and well-earned break and celebrate together. We wouldn’t be able to celebrate our 60^th year in business if it weren’t for the contributions of our hardworking, dedicated, and passionate employees.

While the celebrations were extra special this year because of our anniversary, other events happen throughout the year that are just as fun. Including our annual chili cook-off, various fitness challenges organized by ms Wellness, tailgates for Ohio State and Youngstown State football games, and more.
