The American Council of Engineering Companies of Ohio (ACEC Ohio) recently recognized 28 projects as part of their annual Engineering Excellence Awards Competition. The award program brings well-deserved public recognition to Ohio’s engineering industry by spotlighting engineering projects that demonstrate a high degree of uniqueness, ingenuity and value.
“The talent and achievements the engineering community shares at this award ceremony is truly inspiring,” stated Beth Easterday, President of ACEC Ohio. “They are building connections and enhacing communities every day.”
The highest-rated project is recognized with the ACEC Ohio Grand Award. Other entries are recognized with Outstanding Achievement Awards and Honor Awards. ms consultants received an honor/outstanding achievement award for the U.S. 23/Pennsylvania Avenue improvement project. The project increased safety and efficiencies at one of the highest crash rate locations in Delaware County. This design solution saved $8 million in project costs and reduced environmental impact.
Companies are invited to enter their best projects, either construction designs or engineering reports and studies, in the state competition. Entries are evaluated by a panel of judges who rate each entry on the basis of its uniqueness and originality; technical value to the engineering profession; social and economic considerations; complexity; and how successfully the project met the needs, including time and budget constraints, of the client.
