ms consultants, inc. is working in conjunction with the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District staff on more than 300 capital projects totaling over $160 million. These projects include exciting upgrades to six Ohio parks!
Recently, ms was selected as the Program Management Consultants for the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District’s (MWCD’s) Master Plan Implementation program. ms is collaborating with MWCD to make improvements to six MWCD parks, turning a vision into reality.
Extensive upgrades will be made over the next five to six years. All upgrades will solidify themes unique to each of the following MWCD parks:
Atwood Lake Park, located in Tuscarawas and Carroll Counties, is the primary events and entertainment park in the MWCD system and in the region.
Charles Mill Lake’s tree-lined shores in Ashland and Richland Counties make it an excellent park for visitor to explore and enjoy the natural environment.
The Piedmont Lake Marina and Campground is one of the state’s top fishing lakes. This quiet fishing retreat is nestled in a secluded cove on the lake.
Pleasant Hill Lake Park provides active and challenging recreation located in Ashland and Richland Counties. Its additional amenities will introduce land and water’s edge sports that complement the unlimited horsepower boating permitted on the lake.
Seneca Lake Park and Marina is MWCD’s most water-focused park. Power boating, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, and water park amenities promote water activities on the water and on the land in Guernsey and Noble Counties.
Tappan Lake Park, located in Harrison County, capitalizes on the combination of steep terrain and long narrow valleys to provide challenging sports, such as rock climbing, ropes courses, and mountain biking. It also offers waterfront camping and wooded hiking trails throughout.
Upgrades to the parks will occur over the next several years and will be completed while the parks remain operational during the busy summer camping and boating seasons. Upgrades to the various parks include:
- Modernized accommodations with full hookup RV campsites at all parks
- Creation of cabin neighborhoods with lake views and boat dock access for some parks, while others will provide alternative camping options, such as tent, yurts, and treehouses
- Marina improvements
- New park activities, including trails, zip lining, miniature golf, and more
- Utilities and infrastructure upgrades at all parks, including internet Wi-Fi
