I’m a Structural Engineer in the Building Systems Group. I work on commercial and institutional projects with teams in all ms offices. I graduated from Youngstown State in 2011 and moved to the Akron area for work. In the fall of 2017, I moved back to the Youngstown area to work at ms. I have a beautiful wife Gina, daughter Carmella, and dog Scout. I have loved coming back to my hometown and contributing to bettering my city through my work.

What is the most surprising thing you’ve learned while working at ms?

How fast-paced commercial architecture work is. I came from a power and industrial background where we had months or years to complete a project. When I worked on my first grocery store project and learned I only had two weeks to complete it, I almost fainted.

What project are you most proud to have been a part of, and why?

The Youngstown Riverfront Park and Amphitheater Master Plan. It was my first project at ms, handed to me before anyone even showed me my desk. It was so cool to design such an awesome structure that is showcased in my community. I even get to see it every day when I drive to and from work.

What would you go back and tell your 22-year-old self?

Slow down! Life moves so fast, and it’s okay to relax and just enjoy everything. Also, practice more at golf, and maybe you’d be better by now.

You’ve got one day in Youngstown. What do you do?

Get an early tee time at Kennsington, and then walk the trails at Mill Creek Metropark with my wife, daughter, and dog. Get a great meal at the MVR, a few drinks at Whistle and Keg downtown, and then late-night pizza from Avalon.

Any final words?

I never have final words. It’s very difficult to get me to shut up. I just love to talk.
