We are proud to announce that our recent work was awarded by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) at the national and state levels.

The ACEC Awards recognize engineering firms across the United States for their innovation and outstanding excellence. Two of our projects were awarded for providing a high degree of client satisfaction and quality, cost-effective solutions.

FIFTH AVENUE SAFETY UPGRADES + REHABILITATION

Our Fifth Avenue project proved to be transformational for the city of Youngstown, Ohio, earning an Outstanding Achievement Award from the ACEC Ohio Chapter and an Honor Award from ACEC National. The project created a beautiful corridor, located in northeast Ohio, that connects a major university, the central business district, a public transportation system, and the largest metropolitan park in the U.S.

Charles Shasho, Youngstown’s Deputy Director of Public Works, praised the project and the standards set by ms, stating, “Ultimately, the work ms consultants did set the design parameters for the remainder of these enhancements, including six other street designs for downtown Youngstown currently under construction.”

The modern and efficient multimodal transportation system on Fifth Avenue enhances mobility, improves safety, and integrates technology, providing benefits to both current and future users with its responsiveness and adaptability.

ODOT STORMWATER RESEARCH

ms consultants also piloted an award-winning project for the Ohio Department of Transportation, helping integrate stormwater best management practices (BMP). The stormwater research project earned the Honor Award from the ACEC National Chapter for its exceptional innovation and the Outstanding Achievement Award from ACEC Ohio.

The stormwater BMP helps control flooding, reduce erosion, and improve water quality. This will benefit regulatory agencies, design engineers, contractors, developers, and the general public, by providing a space-efficient, cost-effective, and simple alternative to traditional methods. It will also reduce standing water adjacent to the roadway, providing a safer alternative to typical stormwater management practices.

The stormwater research within this effort will benefit regulatory and engineering communities with data analytics for runoff and rainfall, allowing for continued learning and development.
