2020, it’s been quite a year!

 

During this time of new challenges, we’re thankful for so many things: our families, friends, clients, coworkers, meaningful projects, and communities.

ABOUT THE CHARITIES

Children’s Hunger Alliance: Founded in 1970, Children’s Hunger Alliance is a statewide nonprofit organization in Ohio dedicated to ending childhood hunger. Children’s Hunger Alliance (CHA) partners with organizations throughout Ohio to provide nutritious meals to at-risk children who need them most. CHA helps daycare providers, daycare centers, local school districts, and afterschool and summer programs provide balanced, healthy meals to children in their care. The CHA team also delivers nutrition education and lead children in physical activities to provide a balanced approach to childhood health.

 

Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank: The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, a member of Feeding America, is a not-for-profit founded in 1980 headquartered in Duquesne, PA. With a focus on serving the region’s most vulnerable populations with the healthiest foods possible, the Food Bank is committed to providing higher access to fresh fruits and vegetables. The Food Bank’s goal is accomplished by partnering with local grocers, distribution companies, farmers, community organizations and individuals to acquire and distribute these foods to the community through a network of nearly 400 member agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, after-school programs and senior housing sites.

 

United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley: The United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley has a mission to create positive change by collaborating with partners to educate and empower children and families in the Mahoning Valley. The United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley was founded in 1919, and remains a vital resource in the community that has helped to improve the quality of life for thousands of individuals in the community.

 

Purdue Bound: Purdue Bound strengthens the educational pipeline for under-represented minorities and low income students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) disciplines. Purdue Bound brings together critical elements of the educational process: students, parents, teachers, private industry partners, university faculty and staff to provide a pathway to success. The program partners with local corporations and the Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) to better prepare students for STEM careers by engaging them in STEM activities and exposing them to a world-class Purdue University.

 

Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina: The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina (the Food Bank) is a nonprofit organization that has provided food for our friends and neighbors facing hunger in 34 counties in central and eastern North Carolina for 40 years. The Food Bank is an affiliate member of Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger relief charity. In terms of total food distributed, the Food Bank ranks in the top 15 nationally among 200 Feeding America food banks and first in North Carolina. Our food distribution programs and child nutrition programs are based on national models.

 

Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank: The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank was formed in 1982 by a group of community leaders who made a commitment to provide emergency food to neighborhoods in need. Today, the Foodbank provides food and other essential items to member hunger-relief programs in eight Northeast Ohio counties: Carroll, Holmes, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas and Wayne. These member programs operate nearly 500 food pantries, hot meal sites, shelters and other hunger-relief programs in the neighborhoods and communities where people need food.
