This year, we wanted to see the creative minds of our future STEM leaders. We asked the children of our employees, clients, and friends to draw an engineer or architect, and wow, we were impressed with the results!
There were so many great entries, it was hard to pick just one - above are all of the entries.
Children from 4 to 12 years old submitted a wide variety of entries. And with that, a wide variety of careers. We’re looking at the artwork of our future accountants, engineers, race car drivers, architects, ballerinas, teachers, veterinarians, lawyers, and even a paleontologist. We also had submissions from the Wellington School.
Some of our artists even provided a little bit more information on their drawings. Isla wants to be a bridge engineer and said that engineers dream up the bridge designs they create. Her sister, Scarlett, thinks that engineers hang from bridges and even included that in her drawing.
And our winning entry…Gemma, 10, wants to be an accountant or ballerina when she grows up. Gemma has paid special attention on her way to ballet four times a week. Her drawing represents the SUM 8 Major Rehab in Hudson and Stow which she sees on her way to practice. The marks on the barrier wall are where the transverse sewer pipe (green) was located. One of the two workers is her brother, who was a college intern for Kenmore, who is building the project.
Thank you to all who participated!
