Rail Construction and Inspection

ms consultants was selected to provide construction administration and inspection services to two railroad clients and the Ohio Rail Development Commission. These projects are located in different parts of the state.

 

The Columbus & Ohio River Railroad is undertaking a 108-mile rail reconstruction project from Coshocton to Steubenville, Ohio, on a line known as “The Panhandle.”

 

This project includes the replacement of rails, bridge timber replacements, crosstie replacements, and surfacing of tracks. Financed by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, work includes 32,635 feet of rail replacement, replacement of 585 bridge timbers, 22,400 cross ties and 27.2 miles of track resurfacing.

 

In far northwest Ohio, the Toledo/Lucas County Port Authority Railroad is building a new rail spur at the Toledo Shipyard. This project involves the relocation of a rail spur at 2245 Front Street in the Toledo Shipyard.
