VINISHA IN 100 WORDS OR LESS

I’m a ms newbie of two years and I work with an exceptional group in the HR department. I received my bachelor’s at Wittenberg University and master’s at SNHU. I recently married my better half, who already knows the mantra, happy wife = happy life. Aside from my love of cats, I’m a die-hard Cleveland fan and Marvel is better than DC. I can only be serious for so long, my sense of humor gets the best of me. If you’re in the Columbus office, you’ll find me eating a salad out of a bowl two times the size of my head - it’s my thing.

The Speed Round

What was your first job?
Making some mean Blizzards at Dairy Queen. Only I know the secret to the crunch layer that everyone loves (I wish).

Next item to cross off your bucket list?
I want to adopt a bearded dragon. I know you probably wanted me to say “skydiving” but try googling one and tell me if it doesn’t make your list.

Last album you downloaded?
Do people still do that? Just kidding. It was Bad Blood by Bastille.

If you could only wear one color or the rest of your life, which color would you choose?
Black. Does anyone really choose anything else? If so, I want their level of confidence.

Early bird or night owl?
Definitely early bird. I am not ashamed of leaving what I’m doing/who I’m with to go home to my own bed if it’s past my bedtime.

Last thing you read?
A biography on Abe Lincoln that I can’t remember the title of. I promise it was good.

Best concert you’ve been to?
Back in 2009, I went to a Kid Rock, Black Eyed Peas and Ludacris concert and they put on a heck of a show! Jams after jams, all night long.

Biggest pet peeve?
When people don’t read their emails, and I have to respond with “per my previous email.”

If you had your own talk show, who would be your first three guests?
1. John Paul Dejoria – I’m fascinated by his leadership style.
2. Michelle Obama – I would probably have her workout with me (those arms!).
3. J.K. Rowling – need I say more?

Favorite TV show?
West Wing and How I Met Your Mother. You can laugh and cry at the same time. And of course, Game of Thrones #HouseStark

Farthest you’ve been from home?
Mauritius – an islands off the cost of South Africa, next to Madagascar. Absolutely breathtaking. Or I guess India, since I was born there.

Tell Us More

What is the most surprising thing you’ve learned while working at ms?
We only run the dishwasher once a week (at least in the Columbus office). Can I really answer this truthfully since I’m in HR?

What is the best career advice you have ever received?
Be comfortable with being uncomfortable. If you want to make a change, then you have to take a risk and it will not be in your comfort zone. Change is scary but is life worth living without having dreams that scare you?

What would you go back and tell your 22-year-old self?
Start an anti-aging regimen and learn to look at the big picture. But also, be 22. Your 20s will be gone before you know it.

You’ve got one day in Columbus, Ohio. What do you do?
If it’s one of the five sunny days we get, I’d start with kayaking in the Scioto River with my hubby. Then I’d have lunch at either Martini, Ted’s Montana Grill, or El Arepazo Grill, depending on what we’re in the mood for. Then I’d catch a Buckeye game at the ‘Shoe or watch it at brewery. Dinner would have to be somewhere casual and definitely on a patio. I’d end the night hanging out with a few close friends, preferably around a bonfire. This actually seems like a lot; I might have to bail on some of these.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I’m a fan of spending time with my friends, my cats and obviously, my hubby. Whether that’s being active by running a race, swimming, golfing, kayaking or enjoying a patio somewhere, I’m in. If it’s a rainy day, I’m definitely up for binging a good Netflix/HBO show.

Any final words?
“The greatest way to give back in life is to bestow your knowledge upon others for that is one thing that no one can take from you.”- My grandmother

If you read my responses, I hope you caught on to my sarcasm, as I always aim for a good laugh. At the end of the day, I value happiness over anything else.
