KRYSTAL IN 100 WORDS OR LESS
I manage marketing communications and research for ms. On May 19, I celebrated my three-year anniversary with the firm! After graduating from THE Ohio State University, my career went down the path of graphic design, marketing, and market research. As you can tell, I like to keep things interesting! I’m from a very small village (population: 110) but have primarily lived in Columbus, Ohio since graduation. I’m a proud rescue dog mom to my adorable 11-year old, pitboglemation, Bella. In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym, the great outdoors, true crime documentaries, and planning my next travels.

TELL US MORE
What is most rewarding about being responsible for marketing communications and research for ms?
My ability to bring new ideas to the firm and see them through completion. Whether it’s planning a new website (as in, the one you’re reading!) or developing new marketing campaigns, I’m able to to bring new strategies to the table, implement them, and see the results.
What sets ms apart from other engineering & architecture firms?
The family-owned aspect resonates in every project and every initiative. Sure, we have our different departments, clients, and roles, but there is a connectivity through the firm. We are really one big family.
What is the best career advice you have ever received?
Hands down, the best advice was given to me when I was contemplating a career switch. John Youger, a former colleague and mentor, gave me a note that said, “Remember, there are no mistakes, only lessons. Love yourself, trust your choices, and everything is possible.” Actually, that’s just great life advice.
What would you go back and tell your 22-year-old self?
I would tell myself that there will be a point in your life when you feel like you have absolutely no idea what you’re doing. And yeah, you probably don’t. But it will all come together at some point, so please chill out in the meantime.
What would you be doing if you weren’t an architect/engineer/planner/etc.?
If I weren’t in marketing, I think I’d be in either forensic psychology or criminal law. See previous mention of true crime documentaries.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love to travel and explore, even if its local places. I’m also active and regularly do Crossfit. I’ve also recently taken up golf. That being said, if anyone has any golf tips, please email me immediately.
