A local engineering, architecture and planning firm is changing up its leadership team.
MS Consultants has named Michael Kratofil its new president, while Thomas E. Mosure, the firm's former president and CEO, is becoming chairman of the board. Meanwhile, Monica Mosure has been appointed chief administrative officer and Thomas P. Mosure has been appointed chief growth officer.
Monica and Thomas P. Mosure represent the third generation of family members in leadership for the engineering, architecture and planning firm. These key changes prepare the company for future growth and for generational leadership for the future, MS said in a media release.
Kratofil joined MS Consultants in 1987 as an intern in the Youngstown office. Kratofil evolved from an environmental engineer to a branch manager, and eventually became the firm’s chief operating officer, according to the release.
“Never did I imagine when I started at MS Consultants that I would be part of a company with tremendous growth over my career and then have the opportunity to be the president of the firm,” Kratofil said in the release. “It’s an honor to be part of a company with remarkable individuals, both past and present, who continuously strive to make our communities better by applying the practices of engineering, architecture, and planning.”
Kratofil said he doesn't plan to make any immediate changes in his new role since he is taking over a "great company that is very stable and is comprised of a lot of tremendously talented people." His transition to president and CEO will take about a year, he said.
Thomas E. Mosure, the outgoing chief, said he is excited for the firm’s future and its third generation of family leadership.
