Environmental Planning
It’s an old axiom: time is money. And ms consultants understands that completing the environmental planning processes in a timely manner means saving our clients money. By including experienced environmental planners on our project teams, we can provide all of the necessary environmental documents to complete a project on schedule while managing and protecting vital natural resources.
Almost every infrastructure development project involves some form of environmental documentation. Adhering to state and federal requirements, we have completed hundreds of environmental resource inventories and impact assessments to support decision-making and project development.
Some of our environmental planning services include:
- Biological, Ecological, Physiographic, Geological, and Cultural Resource Assessments, Evaluations, Plans and Programs;
- Impact Mitigation Environmental Design Studies; Environmental Protection and Preservation Techniques; and
- Permitting and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Documentation and Compliance.
Our environmental planners make extensive use of a Geographic Information System (GIS) in their work. A GIS is a spatially oriented information system, and it is the ideal technology for storing, analyzing, and presenting geo-referenced data. Spatial and non-spatial data is integrated in one computer environment, allowing for complete query and analysis. The true strength of a GIS is its ability to compile information from wide range of sources. This data can then be combined and displayed in new ways, highlighting information and relationships previously unseen in the original data format.
ms consultants provides planning services to governments, public agencies, and private industry, and our experience in infrastructure development has given us a wide range of techniques for examining environmental issues. Together with their hands-on experience, our planners participate at both the state and national level in professional transportation and planning organizations with the goal of providing our clients with state of the art technologies and current professional practices in everything we do.
