Gray Road Improvements

ms consultants performed the design for site distance corrections at two locations on Gray Road for the City of Carmel, Indiana. Carmel is located just north of Indianapolis, and Gray Road runs north and south through the eastern part of the city.

Part I of the project was located between Kingswood Drive and Woodcreek Drive, and Part 2 was between Wedgewood Lane and Woodfield Drive.

The construction consisted of mainline pavement reconstruction, storm drainage, driveway approaches, sidewalks, curb ramps, and curb at the entrances. The project included 11-foot travel lanes with two-foot paved shoulders and improvements to the existing right turn lanes.

The project tasks consisted of providing field survey, road engineering design, traffic maintenance design, utility coordination and right-of-way engineering services.

Each sight distance correction involved reconstructing portions of Gray Road to eliminate short, steep crest vertical curves adjacent to the two intersections.

Services Include:

  • Right of Way
  • Road Engineering Design
  • Survey
  • Traffic Maintenance Design
  • Utility Coordination
